We will visit one of the world’s most active volcanoes Mt Etna . Our English speaking driver will pick you up with one of our luxurious vehicles and take you to Mount Etna, majestic and fascinating.It was considered by the ancient Greeks the forges of Vulcan, god of fire. Unpredictable and ever-changing, this mountain rises over 6500 feet above sea level, making it the highest volcano in Europe. You will pass through the town of Santa Venerina then through Zafferana before arriving at Crateri Silvestri which are about 6000 ft above the sea . The lunar landscape is well worth a stop to take some photos. Afterwards , you will continue your excursion to one of Sicily’s most beautiful places – Taormina. This charming and picturesque town has been a world famous resort since the end of the 19th century. You will tour the ancient theatre built by the Greeks during the 3rd century BC, but later changed into an amphitheatre by the Romans. From here you can enjoy a magnificent view of the bay of Naxos and Mount Etna. Next you can visit the Palazzo Corvaia. At the end of this busy day, your driver will bring you comfortably back to your hotel.

We drive uphill to Savoca, one of the most famous and lovely small towns in the area of Taormina. Here Francis Ford Coppola filmed the movie “The Godfather I”. Then continuing to Forza d’Agrò, a small medieval town, overlooking the Ionian Sea, where Al Pacino and Coppola shot several scenes for “The Godfather II” proceeding on to Motta di Camastra, where part of “the Godfather III” was shot. On the way back a visit to the Alcantara gorges, of volcanic origin.

Guide excellent. Avons fait le tour de la Sicile avec lui du 16 au 23 septembre 2011. Très bonnes connaissances de la Sicile et de l'histoire de la Sicile. Personnage qui a beaucoup d'humour, ce qui est très important pour un circuit. Il est bon de décompresser de temps en temps. Vraiment parfait , à l'écoute de tous.
