Morocco’s highest dunes, Erg Chebbi constitute one of nature’s marvels. Its dunes reach nearly 160 meters high. Situated southeast of Erfoud, these majestic dunes formed by wind-blown sand offer unique views and incredible sunset and sunrises over otherworldly landscape.
To get to Erg Chebbi, you will take the famous road of the one thousand kasbahs which offers impressive sights in harmony with architectural villages and green valleys. After Tinjdad you will cross Tafilalet oases, formerly called Sijilmassa, an important medieval trans-saharan trade centre. All around you will enjoy the wonderful and amazing landscapes of the Sahara.
On the way back to Marrakesh, you will take a different route and drive alongside the volcanic foothills of Jbel Saghrou. After crossing Nkob oasis we rejoin the Draa valley where we’ll explore the finest example of architectural kasbahs and fortified villages built in pisé and inhabited since the earlier times.
Picturesque views along the way.

To get to the Sahara desert, you will take the famous road to Tizi-n-Tichka. After crossing Ouarzazate town you will rejoin the road of one thousand kasbahs which offers impressive sights in harmony with the finest examples of architectural kasbahs and fortified villages built in pisé and inhabited since earlier times. The Draa valley, formerly the main route, used through time by the trans-saharien trade caravans who came from Bilad Sudan heading for Marrakesh.
A little further south the valley becomes the great desert where you will explore a Saharan universe that is both spectacular and surprising. These austere and dry areas are surrounded by lunar landscapes offering a unique world of contemplation and breathtaking beauty.
On foot or on the back of a camel you will range across the most extensive dunes in Morocco. This camel trek will lead you to explore the great massif dunes, acacia and tamarisk forests, wide plateaus drowned out by sand, dried-up lakes, sites of ancient civilizations that used to populate the Draa valley and cross the desert long ago.

Essaouira, part of Morocco but distinctively different, influenced by the ancient civilizations; Phoenicians, Carthaginians, Juba II, the Berber prince of Tingitana Mauritania… This city bears witness to the struggles for supremacy that took place here since the earliest times.
Nowadays Essaouira has become a place to go when visiting Morocco. It welcomes the outside world with its traditions, its craft industry, the mildness of its climate and the natural kindness of its inhabitants who give a great welcome to its visitors.
This camel trek has been specifically designed to reveal many aspects of this beautiful part of Morocco. From the north to the south, you will walk along the coastline along coastal cliffs, through the Argane forests with their wild, solitary and sandy beaches with crystal clear water. The walking is purposefully medium, allowing plenty of time to both relax along the way and perhaps even take a dip in the Atlantic ocean.
At the end of this coastal walk you will be able to have a leisurely day exploring Essaouira. In the depths of this peaceful city, you will visit the delightful old fishing port which is always a hive of activity, the Skala of the Kasbah and Jewish quarter or Mellah. Then you’ll discover the souks of the medina, which offer a fine selection of admirable carvings in thuja wood, along with pottery, textiles….
Easy trip on the Atlantic coast offering a leisurely pace.
Wild sandy beaches and craggy cliffs.
An English Berber speaking guide and a Berber welcoming team.
Overnights out in the open air spotting shooting stars.
Open friendly welcome and excellent food.

We trekked for 10 days in the High Atlas, experiencing many and varied cultures and landscapes. Khalid was an excellent, caring and knowledgeable guide. He had a great team of cooks and muleteers. The food and company was fantastic - including musical entertainment on some evenings.
I will never forget the overwhelmingly beautiful smell of the ''Valley Of The Roses'', it's people and the tiny ...
